With October wrapping up, I wanted to let you know a few important updates regarding our holiday closures and meal deliveries.
Closure on Friday, October 31st
A quick reminder that we will be closed this Friday, October 31st, for our Volunteer Appreciation Halloween Party from 4-7pm. There is plenty of room for more, so please let us know if you would like to attend. We’ll have food, drinks, games, and a costume parade, and we are collecting non-perishable food to donate to local food banks. You’re welcome to just drop in for a bit—we know many of you have plans that evening.
We delivered frozen meals to all Friday clients earlier this week, so they will all have meals while we are closed. Thank you to all the Monday drivers for helping out!
Veterans Day Parade and Closure, November 11th
We will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th, in observance of Veterans Day.
To ensure everyone receives their meals:
- Tuesday clients will receive a frozen meal on Thursday, November 6th, in advance of the holiday.
- Prescott Valley clients who also receive weekend frozen meals will get three frozen meals on Thursday. These will be packed together in one bag.
- Clients not home on Thursday will receive their holiday frozen meal on Friday, November 7th, or Monday, November 10th.
In addition, Meals on Wheels will be marching in the annual Veterans Day Parade in downtown Prescott on Tuesday, November 11th. We’ll meet at 9:30 AM, and the parade begins at 11:00 AM.
This year’s theme is “Celebrating America’s Patriots – 250 Years of Military Service.” We’d love your support—whether by marching with us or cheering from the sidelines. Come and be part of this special celebration!
Thanksgiving Day Closures, November 27-28th
Finally, an early heads up that we will be closed on Thursday, November 27th, and Friday, November 28th, in observance of Thanksgiving. We will deliver 2 frozen meals to all clients during the week of the 17th. I’ll have more information on the delivery schedule soon.
