Hi Everyone,
Meals on Wheels Annual Conference
We had a great time at the conference in San Antonio last week. I returned feeling inspired and optimistic about the future of Meals on Wheels, both nationally and here at home. We heard from programs across the country — as far away as Hawaii — representing communities both large and small. A highlight was visiting Meals on Wheels San Antonio, where their new state-of-the-art facility allows them to deliver 4,000 meals each day.
Prescott Empty Bowls, Sunday 9/14
For more than 20 years, Prescott Empty Bowls has brought our community together on the Courthouse Square to enjoy beautiful, hand-crafted ceramic bowls made by local potters and to taste delicious soups prepared by local chefs — all to raise funds for local food banks. Prescott Meals on Wheels is proud to share that our own Chef Joseph will once again be serving one of his signature soups at this year’s event.
While the event officially runs from 11:00AM to 2:00PM, we encourage you to arrive early to choose your bowl and get in line. The wait is often long, but always worth it.
Donor Open House, Wednesday 9/10
We have invited a small group of donors to a Donor Open House on Wednesday, September 10, beginning at 9:45AM. Staff will be giving tours and sharing how our meals are prepared and delivered. Volunteers are welcome to join the conversations. Feel free to share your own experiences and stories with our donors
