Every weekday across Prescott and Prescott Valley, nearly 360 homebound individuals receive more than just a hot meal — they receive a lifeline. Behind each knock on the door is a story of resilience: a widow navigating life alone, a veteran unable to make it to the grocery store, a senior living in quiet isolation.

For over 52 years, Prescott Meals on Wheels has been there for neighbors in need. Today, the organization is calling on the community to help ensure that lifeline remains strong by participating in its first-ever Annual Appeal.

“Nearly 20% of our annual budget relies on federal funding, which is now facing significant uncertainty,” said Neal Sneller, Executive Director of Prescott Meals on Wheels. “This campaign is about more than dollars — it’s about our ability to continue saying ‘Yes’ when the next neighbor calls for help.”

The Annual Appeal aims to raise $150,000 to support critical services including:

• Nutritious, home-delivered meals to those unable to cook or shop for themselves

• Wellness checks and friendly visits for isolated seniors

• Continued care for veterans — who make up one in four of the program’s clients

• The AniMeals program, which delivers pet food to clients with beloved companion animals

Prescott Meals on Wheels operates on a philosophy of Community, Nutrition, and Care. Beyond providing sustenance, the program offers connection, dignity, and peace of mind to those who need it most.

“As we look to the future, this campaign represents a turning point,” Sneller said. “It’s a chance for our community to reaffirm its commitment to the idea that no one — not a veteran, not a senior, not a neighbor — should be left hungry or alone.”
