Hi Everyone,

October is a busy month! We have several upcoming events:

Tax Credit Presentation: Wednesday, October 22nd

Join us from 2-3 pm for a presentation by Brian Lantero, local CPA and Meals on Wheels board member. Brian will explain how the tax credit works and answer your questions. Appetizers and drinks will be provided. There is no cost to attend.

Halloween Frozen Meal Delivery: Monday, October 27th

Because we are closed on Friday, October 31st, all clients will receive one frozen meal on Monday, October 27th, along withweekend frozen meals for Prescott clients. Please ask a staff member if you would like help moving the frozen meals to your vehicle.

Pumpkin Carving Party: Wednesday, October 29th

Thanks to Mortimer Farms in Dewey, we have 30 pumpkins ready for carving in preparation for our Halloween Party. Please join us for a Pumpkin Carving Party on Wednesday, October 29th, from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. Wine and cheese will be provided.

Volunteer Appreciation Halloween Party, October 31st

Over 80 volunteers have already RSVP’d for the Halloween Party on Friday, October 31, from 4-7 pm. Stop by for drinks and appetizers prepared by Chef Joseph and take part in games, a costume parade, and our “Reverse Trick or Treat” event. Instead of receiving candy, please bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Yavapai Food Neighbors (aka “Green Bags”), who will deliver your donations to local food banks. Suggested items:

• Nut butters• Canned tuna and chicken• Canned vegetables• Canned fruit• Soup and chili• Beans, canned or dried• Rice• Pasta• Cereal• Crackers• Canned milk• Oil• Juice• Cake or biscuit mixes• Meal or spice packages• Nuts• Protein bars• Snack items
